The 2023 Census data on the population distribution of the Republic of Albania at the Grid 1 Km² level are generally valid for 10 years. The data are in accordance with the State Standard for Technical Specifications of Geospatial Information in Albania. Topic: Statistical Units.
The 1km² grid is used by INSTAT for the purpose of presenting Census statistical data. The data include only populated cells (aggregation of population by residence within each grid cell) and present the population distribution regardless of administrative division. The data are also suitable for performing various spatial analyses. They are available in vector format as polygons. For confidentiality reasons based on the Official Statistics Law, the data presented at the grid cell level include only those cells with a population of over 3 people (total population).
