Protected areas include national parks, strict nature reserves, natural monuments, nature parks, protected landscapes and multipurpose areas.
The geospatial data for the boundaries of the protected areas were created through field identification and cartographic digitization, using topographic maps at a scale of 1:25000 and orthophotos at a scale of 1:5000 as the spatial basis. The protected areas were declared in accordance with the Law on Protected Areas.
