Local leveling networks represent a set of leveling lines with permanently stabilized and easily accessible benchmarks, spatially organized in closed polygons or as embedded leveling trains.
Local leveling networks are developed according to a hierarchical principle and are connected to the leveling networks of higher orders. The accuracy of the relative vertical position of the benchmarks of the local leveling networks should be: for networks of precise leveling (+/- 1 mm / √km); for city leveling networks (+/- 2 mm / √km); for networks of technical leveling with increased accuracy (+/- 5 mm / √km); and for networks of technical leveling (+/- 8 mm / √km).
