In the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, the implementation of GIS software began in 2020 when the Gauss WebPresenter atlas with a PostgreSQL database was implemented. The system has been continuously maintained since the moment of implementation. The database exists in the Cantonal Public Institution for Protected Natural Areas, for each area separately. In 2020, the software solution and interface were implemented and a web GIS browser is publicly available. Since not all data is publicly available, the Institution has a database with all relevant documents, a list of habitats and species, and a spatial layout that each user can obtain upon request, depending on the area of interest. Upon request, data can be obtained in shp.file format as well as data in pdf format, habitat maps, maps with the location of observed species, maps of vegetation, forests and forest land, private and state plots, spatial zoning maps, etc.
