The CORINE level IV classification was developed and adapted to the conditions in Bosnia and Herzegovina for a map scale of 1:5,000. The study of the inventory of the state and the creation of a database of land cover and land use in the Sarajevo Canton in GIS technology was carried out using orthophoto images from 2022 at a scale of 1:2,500, existing pedological maps at a scale of 1:50,000, land use value maps at a scale of 1:10,000, and additional field research and data checks. The main objectives of the Study are to: - provide a balance sheet of agricultural areas and changes that occurred on agricultural areas in the period 2008-2022. years, and on the basis of orthophotos, - the difference between data from cadastral records and obtained data on agricultural areas, - arable and non-arable land by purpose, i.e. to demarcate productive land (agricultural and forest) from unproductive land (land used for other purposes). The final product was a synthetic map 1:50,000 (data base at 1:5,000), on which the special values of the area are highlighted - forest, thickets and marginal parts of the forest, habitat, traditional orchards, cultivated cultivated land, etc., as a basis for the future planning of the development of Sarajevo Canton and its spatial planning with rational application and optimal use of land resources.
